Why are you a CAMP athlete?
I am a ski mountaineer in the winter, competing in Ski races throughout Colorado, New Mexico, and other parts of the country, some times even the world. These races require lightweight gear to keep you speedy, but gear that is reliable and will help make me the best athlete I can be. For every skimo race, we are required to have certain gear, and of course, the lighter the better. The CAMP pack can hold all the necessary gear I need, including skins, a harness, via ferrata, lightweight jacket and pants, and hydration. They also have a skin suit, that fits well, and has the necessary components I need when in race mode.
It meant a lot to me when I climbed:
- Guide’s Ridge Crested Butte
- Corbett’s in Jackson Hole
The adventure, route or race I had to train the hardest for was:
The Crested Butte Ski Mountaineering Race, which required climbing up the Guide’s Ridge up Crested Butte Mountain. I had to use gear I had never even heard of, but thankfully CAMP had it all!
The adventure, route or race that wrecked me the most was:
2011 Elk Mountain Grand Traverse
I most want an all-expenses paid trip to:
Patagonia in South America
My short list of climbing or adventure goals this year:
- Skiing/SkiMo around Patagonia
- Skiing/SkiMo in Japan
- Adventures in other parts of the U.S.
