86 racers participated in the Loveland Ski Area COSMIC event this past Saturday, March 3rd. Ethan Passant and Monique Merrill conquered a course with 4,000 feet of ascending and -35 degree wind chill on the Ridge at Loveland on their way to victory in the men’s and women’s field. Racers started on foot and ran through the pedestrian tunnel before circumnavigating Loveland and skiing some challenging wind-slab and fresh snow.
In addition to AT skiers, 20 telemark racers and one split-boarder took part in the event. The series most challenging course is up next at Silverton Mt. on April 21st and the largest participation race at Arapahoe Basin on April 28th.
